outbound fax not going through - Elastix Forums :: Open Source ...

I apologize in advance if I am not clear. I am still trying to understand the system as the person who set up our pbx is no longer with us. However, I am having an issue with faxes going through. I did some investigating and found out that our phone system uses dynamic ip so we have to use another company to route our faxes through. The routing company tells us that they are getting a 488 not acceptable here error message. They said that the system is sending this error message in response to a t38 re-invite from them. They think that it might be a free pbx setup issue or a sip alg that is enabled or a firewall issue.

I am not exactly sure where to go from here. I have contacted our phone company and put in a ticket. I was just wondering if anyone here has heard of a 488 error message and if it can be resolved through the pbx system.

Any suggestion on what to do next will be greatly appreciated.
